We're excited to announce a new version of ORKG Comparisons! Based on your feedback, we've made ORKG Comparisons more flexible, user-friendly, and powerful. Here's a summary of what's new:
✏️ Editable comparisons: You can now edit comparison data directly on the comparison page! Just click the “Edit data” button to make inline changes via the Data Browser. It comes with handy features to ensure consistent descriptions across different entries. Of course, the Grid Editor is still available for bulk changes.
🔄 Comparison versatility: Comparisons are no longer limited to paper contributions. You can now compare datasets, software, machine learning models, and any other resource types.
👀 Improved user experience: The new design repeats properties on each row, making it easier to see which value belongs to which property. Enhanced coloring and visual indicators help you quickly understand the data hierarchy. Plus, data is no longer automatically merged, so you can predict exactly how your comparison is displayed.
🔍 Improved filters: Inline filter selection allows you to choose filters quickly without losing context, making exploration faster and smoother.
⚡ Improved performance: Making changes to comparisons is now much faster, especially for large datasets.
🐞 Bug fixes: We've resolved numerous bugs! If you spot any remaining issues, please report them in GitLab.
🛠️ Technical improvements: Behind the scenes, we’ve made many technical upgrades. While too many to list, these improvements make it easier to access and update comparisons programmatically via the API. Check out the updated backend documentation for details.
Note: Comparisons might look slightly different after the update, but the data itself remains unchanged. We hope you enjoy exploring the new features and find it easier to create and edit comparisons!
