The AI comparison creator helps you to quickly get started with creating new ORKG comparisons. To summarize the approach: you upload a set of PDF papers, and you get back a filled-in comparison table. This draft you then review, correct, and extend before publishing.
Upload your papers. On the create comparison page, click the "AI comparison creator" button and drop in your PDFs. Each paper becomes one column in the comparison, so five papers give you a five-column table. The files are processed on our servers only to extract the data, they are not stored afterwards.
Review the extraction plan. Here you can steer the LLM extraction. Add any additional properties you want to extract, or delete the ones that are not relevant.
The AI fills the table. It can take some time (up to 10 minutes) until the extraction is finished. You can leave the page, the bell icon in the left top of the screen will inform you once the extraction is finished.
Create the comparison. When the data is ready, you can create the comparison directly.
Review the comparison. Before publishing the created draft comparison, you need to manually review all the values. This is the important part. The AI extracts values from full texts, and it can be imprecise, miss context, or simply get something wrong. What you get is a starting point that still needs a domain expert, which is you. Also, this is the time to add additional properties of values to your comparison.
