Effluents from the textile industry are of environmental concern, as they are generated in large volumes and present a high concentration of organic matter and toxicity. In this comparison, a brief mention of the characteristics of textile effluents is presented, and the basic principles, advantages, limitations and recent advances of Fenton processes are discussed as alternatives for the treatment of textile effluents.
