David Jones and his colleagues [Jones et al, 2020] made a systematic literature review and identified 19 core themes (or key concepts) relating to the Digital Twin*: Physical Entity, Virtual Entity, Physical Environment, Virtual Environment, Fidelity, State, Parameters, Physical-to-Virtual Connection, Virtual-to-Physical Connection, Perceived Benefits and others.
This comparison takes one of these DT themes - Parameters. It shows a table of digital twins’ parameters and examples of papers where parameters have been used. Parameters refer to the types of data, information, and processes that are passed between the physical and virtual twins. Authors of an article show how parameters can be classified into just ten classes, a relatively small set given the range of examined literature.

‘‘Twin” here implies that this digital informational construct would be linked to the physical system throughout its entire lifecycle. Digital twins are the result of continual improvement in the creation of product design and engineering activities.
