Stark broadening is a general effect that is presented in the emitted radiation from transitions of atoms or ions immersed in a plasma. Considering that the plasma state constitutes a large percent of the matter in the Universe, it is one of the most powerful tools to diagnose astrophysical and laboratory plasmas; remotely and without interfering with the plasma itself. The comparison presents the results of various experiments, where trends in the Stark broadening is studied along the isoelectronic series of Li-like ions.
