Peer-Review is not what it used to be: With a growing number of papers submitted to conferences and journals, peer reviewers are facing increasing fatigue. Additionally, reviewers often lack an overview needed to contextualize a submission in the state-of-the-art and assess a specific work’s merit. Among other factors, this ultimately leads to the deficiency of peer-review.
Our peer-review project aims to change that. The idea: Authors accompany their submission with an ORKG Comparison by simply providing the link in the submission form. Reviewers then receive the Comparison and get a quick overview over related approaches, the state-of-the-art in the respective field and the context of the submission.
We aim to partner with conferences and journals in order to facilitate the peer-review process for both authors and peer-reviewers. Contact info@orkg.org for further information and inquiries.
Instructions for authors can be found here.
To facilitate reproducibility and give peer-reviewers a characterization of a submission by juxtaposing it with related approaches we encourage you to accompany your paper submission with an ORKG comparison in the Open Research Knowledge Graph. More information on the background and how to create an ORKG comparison can be found here. In the submission process, you will have the opportunity to submit the link to your comparison to the peer-reviewers.
Making a submission machine-actionable directly while writing? Possible with our SciKGTeX Package!
You can also encourage authors to use our LaTeX package to annotate their submissions. The annotations are stored in the pdf's metadata and can be ingested in the ORKG or used as input for other knowledge graphs. You can find more information here.
How are double-blind submissions handled?
While creating a Comparison, authors will be able to associate it with a conference. For conferences or journals requiring double-blind submissions, we will then anonymize the submissions till the end of the review period. Please contact us if your conference is not yet listed.
What happens if a paper gets accepted? What if it is rejected?
We will track accepted papers of listed conferences and associate them after acceptance with the proper DOIs of the published articles. If a submission is rejected, it will not be listed on the conference page.
